When english is not that person's 1st language, you have to be Clear and Succinct, and I will not lie nor mislead, and WILL call a Spade a Spade!

You will find that Designer R.J.Mitchell regularly attended the construction and use of his 1st Spitfire aircraft in:

Leslie Howard taking the part of R.J.Mitchell.

Just so JimQ, with the Tornado engines hardware simulation all over the flight envelope, and so
where I supported MRCA-Tornado P01 1st flight analysis using the MBB Tertiary MagTape supplied to me at Bristol, and then a month later.....
alongside and in the Telemetry Room, the Certification Ground Runs and 1st Flight of  P02, plus a few engine rebuilds and Installation setting up for BAe Warton's Early Flights of P02, P03 and P06, through to 1976.

I started on AFVG's M45G in 1966, proceeded through Performance Design and then simulation of the 2 shaft BS143 from June 1967 and the 3 shaft RB199 from June 1968, thru' 1971 Design Meeting Thoughts at Warton Headed by BAe's Len Milsom and my boss John Lane with me alone from Bristol, until 1972 when John Kitcatt joined us as Chief Flight Engine Dev Engr, preparing the Build Standards and Endurance Demonstration Hours, for 1974 onwards......
eventually to RAF support from 1980, to make sure IT WORKED as THEY Required, and JimQ left to go back to Design after the 1984 Red Flag Tornado 617 Squadron win, since the RAF no longer needed me, having not contacted me throughout all that RAF Preparation for Red Flag!

This is P02 at Mach 1.6 30,000ft, with Dave driving the RB199's up front, in 1975.

The 1st time I saw any RB199 hardware was the Nozzle, at the backend of its Vulcan Installation in 1973 - all previous work was Imagination and Calculation!!
I have sat in both Vulcan and Tornado P02's cockpits since, throttle Feel and so on, with cockpit gauges operating from the electronic simulations attached at the back of the aircraft..... engines not running, for you need a "Trained Cockpit Clearance" for that, especially..... Safe Escape, switches to OFF!
