A big Problem in Britain is - nobody Wants Customers!!
FIRST ONE:
I am going to the Womens' Rugby World Cup in Bristol this evening - NZ v Canada. We received our two tickets, with NO INFO ABOUT how to find our seats, nor even about how to get to the Stadium (by a reference to a website). I have never been to the Ashton Gate Stadium before, so I need info.....
My discoveries:
1) there is no car parking anywhere near
2) where are our seats in the Stadium
3) what turnstile do we enter - it was on ticket, eventually found it - oh dear!
4) where are the turnstiles
5) Bus routes available? or train stations?
6) eventually found Brislington or Portway Park and Ride..... or Parsons Street railway station with 18 minute walk.
7) take P&R number 9 bus every 10 mins or so, to ........where? and change bus where? and to what number bus?
8) found X6 X7 X9 and U2 buses from Merchants Road to the Stadium and return via Blackmoors Lane and Gasworks Road.... 10 minute intervals
took nearly 2 hours to find all this info, spread over several websites. Hey, if AN ORGANISER did that, we could ALL be VALUED CUSTOMERS, instead of which 10,000 (say) of us would spend nearly 20,000 hours on the THEN BLOCKED internet. Good A? Makes the American big tech companies money by charging for more Internet Servers AND Server working-time.

HS2 - Gordon Brown suggested their was a need in 2008 white paper. JimQ and all us IMeche E people thought yeah,good idea,but nothing how to do it cost effectively - totally ignored!
HS2 Act passed in 2017 by Parliament with route only. How much would it cost? NOT EVEN ASKED OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS, to prepare/investigate/plan/estimate.
30miles (the HS2 Act: from Birmingham to London) of tunnels liked by Customers? NOT EVEN CONSIDERED. If I ever have a need to travel London to Birmingham I will take the old Euston to Birmingham New Street (or vice versa) route, not the HS2 route via Birmingham Curzon Street!! Some years ago The IMechE Chief of the Railway Division said we need capacity not speed, to get polluting cars off the road. Tunnels are required if you travel at 250mph (400kph) for the trains cannot turn corners, so the track has to be nearly straight. Isambard Kingdom Brunel of "How to Travel to the USA" fame would be HORRIFIED, for he took the GWR route AROUND hills - for best cost-effectivity!!
What was the HS2 Act about? Thus you VISIBLY see incompetent rich fat cat people..... Professional Engineers considered....taboo? Must NOT be asked to provide a Cost-Effective Solution!! Or are they Proscribed as a terrorist organisation?

The hullabaloo over some military exercises in Belarus recently, about 300km from their border with Poland - YET, all these NATO aggressors VERY CLOSE to The Russian Federation Border .....

The Afghan invasion by the "west" as a result of "911" with UN Resolution support (I think) was such a Military Declaration, which has been missing since January 2024 A. Shame THEY pulled out, for UN's womens rights destroyed since. Short sightedness rules often among politicians..... with a herd-only instinct!
3) Misbehaviour MUST include the Powerful Nations MIS-use of RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) to control Others!! The UK Govt has hugely abused their power by using it on individuals like me - they seem to deliberately make an individual mis-behave, then invite them to join Govt in the House of Lords (some love the pagentry -I hate it), and then Blackmail them if they do not Comply "with God!!"when there. It strikes me that God thinks "like" the Royals, who are extraordinarily and widely acclaimed - the Blackmail is working to Promote them to a ridiculous extent.
Many of their so called good visits are to actually collect the blackmail money...... Or to Enforce their Demands. Princess Anne collects more visits than anybody - the female of course more attractive than the brothers.....
They have treated me like SHIT and they will bloody PAY!! for that is the Last thing that I am.

The Satellite Transceivers must be destroyed in MY OPINION - and that may be possible with energy weapons that Swamp the signals, and even cause a resonance frequency of self destruction. UNSC last night agreed, including the USA, that the Israeli attack on Qatar and their Peace Talks with Hamas, were WRONG. Everybody agreed, except the Israeli's Ambassador, Danny Danone. The Human Sergei Lavrov declared that well in his short speech too - a human being who cares too....... (sorry to so emphasise, but you Westerners have NO IDEA have you !!).
Trouble is, NOBODY does anything but GAS GAS GAS at these UNSC meetings - WHEN is somebody (or a group) going to STOP Israel, IMMEDIATELY, for another 60 Palestinians were killed in Gaza the day before yesterday.
And on TV this morning, I saw a man playing with a child in Gaza, launching and flying a Paper Kite up there in the sky - they were having FUN, but....... surely, Mr UK King and Ministers, that is NOT allowed by VERMIN is it? Planned Speed of HS2 trains.... too fast! Thus, Track has to be nearly straight! 30% of HS2 London to Birmingham is very expensive tunnel. Brunel took the 1841 GWR around hills, not through them.
EV car battery recycling a major problem, not solved for those millions dumped in about 2035!
We need extensive rail electrification, because the use of electricity to produce hydrogen, or to charge batteries, to be used for traction power, means efficiency loss at the "conversion" (1st to hydrogen or battery, 2nd to wheel rotation which electrification could do in one). Rail already has lower CO2 emissions than road vehicles, we just need more train capacity to take the vehicles off the roads as best we can.

President Gorbachev of the CCCP began relaxing state control and made moves towards liberal organisation, and especially in 1988 and 1989 this relative freedom resulted in many CCCP States reverting to their own National Flag, and with many uprisings against their Local Communist Party, amid proposals for elections. Gorbachev was very active during those years in Replacing Communist Leaders in many of these "nearly more independent" Nations. In 1990, all fifteen constituent republics of the USSR held their first competitive elections, The CNN and BBC were now often being heard. Even the isolated Gorbachev was able to stay abreast of developments by tuning into the BBC World Service on a small transistor radio.The final round of the Soviet Union's collapse began on 1 December 1991. The Bush administration encouraged European allies to modernise their armed forces and acquire advanced military systems, consistent with the need for a more responsive and capable global military force. This would have a direct impact on the types of military hardware sold to and purchased by European nations.
Previous US presidents have urged Europe to take more responsibility for their defence and reduce the burden on US taxpayers of maintaining forces in Europe after 1993 - but none as bluntly as Mr Trump from July 2018's NATO meeting, when he wanted them to increase to 4%, double the previous aim of 2%. And in 2025: 5%!
AND, the F35 sales policy in so many Nations also, to make the USA huge profits out of everybody they call "friend"...... just what Trump wanted, to further his 2025 tariffs policy too.....
Thus a solid NATO march towards the Russian Federation has resulted in Mr Putin's Objections. This is a similar USA Objection in 1962, leading to the Soviet withdrawal of CCCP missiles from Cuba, about 350km from the USA, in Miami, not millimetres as in Estonia and Latvia borders.
Thus, the REAL aggression started with Trump's 2018 double budgets to 4%, in the strongly revived "Peace through Strength" policy, and over 1,000 F35 sales, was now seen by The Russian Federation as a big build-up of USA aggression rather than simply deterrence!!

As lecturers in Trinity College, Dublin, we have carefully followed the debate about the role of GenAI in higher education. We have learned about how GenAI works and its educational, social, environmental and economic impacts. What we have learned leads us to deliberately avoid GenAI in our own work and to emphasise authentic human thinking and experience in our teaching.
Chatbots are text prediction machines that have no understanding of the text they produce, nor any conception of truth. Our focus here is on GenAI chatbots (like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude), which are LLMs, popular for their ability to rapidly generate a limitless variety of text.
As a result, they frequently generate plausible-sounding but incorrect responses, termed “hallucinations” (or “lying”). No wonder there is growing recognition that GenAI chatbots have been overhyped and oversold.
Beyond its unreliability, GenAI creates considerable environmental and ethical harms and impedes our students’ ability to think for themselves.
In Ireland, data centres have gobbled up all new renewable electricity generated over the past six years, slowing down decarbonisation and keeping us dependent on polluting energy sources. While GenAI companies claim the carbon footprint of a single chatbot question is negligible, this obscures the technology’s cumulative ecological impact.
Not only do tech companies carefully select the numbers they report, there is little transparency about the energy demand associated with permanent background operation of GenAI (like in Google search) and how overall demand will grow in a future where GenAI is even more deeply integrated into our lives.
Pursuing higher education is not about learning what to think, but how to think.
A lecturer’s job is to foster fundamental thinking skills – such as reading and analysis, problem formulation, information synthesis, evidence-based reasoning and critical evaluation and reflection. Engaging with the challenging process of producing original and authentic pieces of written work is one of the ways in which our students build these skills and learn how to link thinking independently with how to communicate effectively, truthfully and knowledgeably. In essence, our focus is on the process, while GenAI provides a shortcut to the product.
By using GenAI to shortcut the learning process, students undermine the very thinking skills that make them both human and intelligent.

The Ba'ku in 1998's Star Trek Insurrection were to be forced off their land (as today)........ Captain Picard challenges that, but did you REALLY notice the Ba'ku comment "our technological ability is not apparent because we have chosen not to employ them in our daily lives. We believe that when you create a machine to do the work of a man, you take something away from the man."
Thus so - The UK Govt forced Smart Energy Meters on us citizens - they are very costly, so say "to help the citizen know the cost of their electricity and gas consumption for cooking and heating", but used mostly only for a week in a year for you quickly know, and yet an A4 sheet of paper would have covered most things used in the home.
Meantime, all those meter reader folk, lost their jobs....... and the Suppliers now sell the idea that you can save money at certain times of the day using that device, but it will be well over 3 years to break even with the hidden cost of a Smart Meter, IF you are able to save (that £0.10 a time) EVERY DAY, which is unlikely (you are given it for "free", but it will cost you in the increased bills you receive over time - over £100 cost to design and make I bet!).
What a waste of MONEY, persuaded by a Govt that is not even numerate - this proves it!!
I used software to help me do my job better (at all! for Off Design complex gas turbine calculations, which require lots of iteration cycles to converge on a solution - over two minutes a KDF9 computer flight point in 1968 and 1969!), and NO amount of AI can yet innovate like I can! When it does...... yet I am one of the more intelligent folk. Is ALL OF OUR futures to become slave to the machine?
The Govt is investing hugely in this sort of stuff - Data Centres springing up everywhere, consuming huge amounts of electricity, at our home expense? In Ireland, it is predicted that over 30% of the electricity supply will be gobbled up by 2030 by these Money Grabbing Data Centres..... how much will be left for us? The EirGrid is already time sharing in 2025, for about 20% of all electricity consumption is recorded for Data Centres!
OR, how much EXTRA Govt Investment in electricity generation Required - at the expense of our taxes !!

The i Paper today has an internal splash about slave labour in China.
May I remind you all that 40 years ago, 90% of the Chinese population were living in abject Poverty, and that has so very much been reduced to almost zero now - part of that improvement was to move many rural Chinese with virtually no income, to urban environments where they could earn money - by force. was a fight between people from Lancashire and Yorkshire, about who is King of Britain. What a waste of time - instead of fighting they could have negotiated and agreed to share the two counties which were next door to each other. Just male ego, and "I'm in Charge!" craziness. Solved in the end by marriage of Henry VII to Elizabeth of York (happily it seems) and they produced Henry VIII - Oh blimey!
At school I hated all this conflict and murder with so very many dates, and I dropped History from then on (at age 12 and a half!). Why do people not COLLABORATE with each other as Engineers do? - look at wikipedia and it drives you crazy with so many War of Roses deaths to 1485 - and thus my revulsion for such events, as in Gaza. ● At 200ft, no aircraft is radar visible unless from very close-by, so briefly! So, what IDIOT said fly long distance into target at 15,000ft? Brief popup from 100ft ONLY!
The USA - to support their own very high fuel consumption high dry thrust aircraft at 15,000ft...... that CANNOT match Tornado's Infantry support (CAS) or its long range high speed Strike near the Ground!
Oh, just note the chart above - Tornado F3 Pilots had to throttle back at Mach 2.2, for Panavia designed the structure Cost Effectively, so was the decided limit, but the F3 could actually have gone on to Mach 2.5 for the thrust was .... adequate!! Similarly for any USA claim - their aircraft could only hold Mach 2.2 temperatures for a time too - beware the USA hype chaps - things are often not the way they tell'em!!
You should surely KNOW, WE RAF Tornado supported our troops in Afghanistan with lengthy and timely over fly, very very well, but the F35's never will for their fuel consumption is high, so such CAS endurance will be short!! And their IR signature much higher than Tornado's so any IR missiles around will easily find them!!

The current military activities between Israel and Hamas are a direct result of Israel and THE WEST FAILING to accept Hamas “document-of-general-principles-and-policies” in 2017 at FACE VALUE.
THAT IS OVER ACTIVE SUSPICION AND PREJUDICE – caused by Western style democratic countries not Understanding what democracy is all about – freedom of expression and respect for others, and NOT RESIDING in the past, but learning from it.
When the West oh so politely speaks in the UN, Palestine are not able to speak - As a non-member observer, Palestine can speak at UN meetings but can't vote on resolutions about the situation in Gaza. The 193 members of the United Nations General Assembly are expected to vote on the Israel-Gaza war on Friday 10th November 2023, but as an observer rather than a member, Palestine will not have a say! It is like criticising my swearing, when you so strongly criticise or muscle me – you are thus swearing too, but not using such words as I do. Sneer is a swear word in my world, and officials do it all the time! Donald Trump and Boris Johnson especially.
The data I have collected above shows that the Middle East’s problems are mostly personality clashes, where dictatorship has ruled rather than consensus – a word which Hamas has used, but nobody else!
The 1936 UK Peel Commission even blamed the Palestinians for population growth, even though so many Jews had come to settle there.
I am suspicious of why Israel will not hand the West Bank and Gaza Strip back to Palestine, as a country. The West Bank has much fertile arable land – and thus the Israeli 2017 suspicion hides …… something more? !
Terrorism comes about because of failure to agree a consensus with their minority view, by failing to persuade, or to even try to persuade, and by imposing autocracy, dictatorship, or even muscle to SHOW GOVERNMENT IS ALWAYS RIGHT. Israel is showing that is wrong – now! And there are many in the Gaza Strip killed and wounded – more than in Israel !! Who is the terrorist?
It seems to have taken Hamas 6 years to collect enough weapons to strike hard at Israel, for so not negotiating with their 2017 suggestion, and they struck in 2023. Israel has hit back extremely hard and over the top if Gaza numbers killed and wounded is believed, but they were the cause of the Hamas attack in the first place.
Just like in the Suez crisis, Israel STRODE IN, with UK and French help, to declare their need for access via the Red Sea, but they could have freighted their products via the Mediterranean, and around Africa – it was presumably cheaper to have a war than to pay for the extended travel time to the Far East??
And the 6 Day war in 1967? An Israeli pre-empt, based upon President Nasser’s take over of the Sinai peninsula – Israel may be scared, but surely that means negotiation would be a good starter? The Sinai was Egypt’s anyway, but it was previously taken away by UK imperialism – and then UK resignation.
The problems really started because of Hitler in the 1930’s when so many Jews needed a home – and found many Nations would only accept small numbers. Big numbers went to Palestine as a result, muscling their way in amongst the Palestinians – and were scared it would all happen again, so they have become aggressive! And are showing it today.
This is now a humanitarian crisis, and we should all be trying to promote a ceasefire, not siding with either party to the conflict. A ceasefire would be welcome, on the basis that ISRAEL in 2017, and as a result, HAMAS in 2023, are BOTH at fault here.
It was/is wrong to claim Hamas is a terrorist organisation, and not blame Israel for them becoming so. It is like declaring your friend cannot be wrong, because they ARE your friend, and can never make a mistake of arrogance and short sightedness. Or strongly supporting the local football team, even when they, or their crowd, are behaving poorly…....
For THE WEST to side with Israel so obviously, just makes the Arab World hate us more – our SHORT-SIGHTED-NESS and LACK OF INSIGHT is NOT helping.

Why now is the time to talk to Hamas by Tareq Baconi 2may2017
On Monday night, the head of Hamas’s political bureau, Khaled Meshal, officially unveiled the organisation’s much-anticipated “Document of general principles and policies” during a press conference in Doha.
Compared to the movement’s founding document, this new one is relatively nuanced and politically astute. Although it falls short of many privately voiced hopes regarding anticipated reforms within Hamas, it offers a fair representation of Hamas’s evolution as a movement and governing entity in Gaza nearly 30 years after its founding.
In the biggest concession, the new document states that Hamas “considers the establishment of a fully sovereign and independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital along the lines of 4 June 1967, with the return of the refugees and the displaced to their homes from which they were expelled, to be a formula of national consensus”.
By implication, the document accepts that there will be another state entity outside these borders, even if it does not mention Israel.

Israel rejected the document before its full publication, with a spokesman for the prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, saying: “Hamas is attempting to fool the world, but it will not succeed.”
